A research team from Inselspital, University Hospital Bern and the University of Neuchâtel, in collaboration with four hospital centers, studied the impact of structured, short briefings during surgery. The application of the tested “StOP?-protocol” resulted in relevant improvements in mortality, unplanned readmissions and length of hospital stay.
